Harold Marcotte is an Associate Professor within the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition in Karolinska Institutet.
He obtained a BSc and a MSc in Microbiology as well as a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Université Laval, Canada.
He performed postdoctoral studies on mucosal vaccines at the University of Cambridge in 1997-1998 and at the University of Siena in 1998-2000.
After joining Karolinska Institutet in 2000, he worked on host-microbe interactions, microbial engineering, antibody engineering and antibody therapy against various pathogens including Helicobacter pylori, Clostridium difficile, rotavirus, norovirus and HIV.
More recently, his research is focusing on investigating the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 following infection and vaccination, and the development of antibody therapy against COVID-19.
